Title: Politics As Usual
Post by: Micky on June 20, 2007, 10:24:19 PM
I can't believe that city council allows so much travel out of state and have spent so much money over the past few years.  According to Hudson, as reported in the Vindi today, "conferences teach effective leadership, budgeting, and dealing with the media".  If this is so, our council should get an "F" in each category.  What Leadership?  What budgeting?  The city is going broke and is so crime ridden yet they go out of town on our dime.

What have they ever learned and put into effect in Youngstown?
Couldn't they find better use of discretionary funding - put cameras and "shot spotters" in a few places around the city. Or better yet, approve travel money for a few citizens to attend the conferences.

I can't understand why the term limited councilmen would want to attend this conference.   They will be out of office in January 2008.

My feelings exactly. Ron Verb was talking about it this morning.

THESE COUNCILMEN ARE COMPLETELY OUT OF CONTROL! >:(
