Annie & Artis Gillam Blows City Money in DC
What makes the Gillams think that city money should be used to pay for any portion of their obviously personal trip to Washington, DC?
The National Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials is a joke group that can offer no community wide benefits to the Youngstown area. The entire cost for the Gillam's (DC Vacation) should come out of their own pockets.
We helped get Artis Gillam elected in 1999-2000 and we will forever regret that we wasted our efforts on this idiot and his family.
More importantly, we owe an apology to the citizens of Youngstown for supporting the Gillams. Over the past years we have found them to be nothing more than self centered small minded people with only one intent in mind....To take as much as they can as quickly as possible from the City of Youngstown.
To say that we are sadden to think of what other abuses will be uncovered when we start to investigate the Gillam tenure on city council is an understatement...
It will be one of our missions to turn over ever rock and to look into every crack and crevice that Mr. Gillam touched in our city.
I personally despise any Politian who misuses public funds for any reason!...I view this conduct as the highest of all criminal offenses.
And they still are in power.

Don't you have a City Solicitor or someone similar who is charged with investigating the misuse of city funds?
Aren't they - anyone - required to get (prior) approval for what they can spend using city funds? And isn't there a dollar limit specified for pre-approvals ??
