Why?Town

When my first son was young I used to like watching Bill Nye the Science Guy. He was quite entertaining and usually, but not always, pretty much on par with the topic at hand.

Unfortunately the kiddies were too young to question any part of what he said because he was the science guy and they figured he knew everything. Worse than that is that so many of those now adults still believe he knows everything about what's best for everyone.

While he did go to college and became an engineer (not exactly a scientist) at first, he ended up "quit(ing) his job at Boeing on October 3, 1986, to focus on his burgeoning comedy career," quote from Wkipedia.

He could have remained "the science guy" entertaining people on TV but he seems to be too self important, and too old to get out of the way of real progress in science, neither being much different than the Fauci guy.
