Deer Meets Cat

There was a deer in my yard yesterday.  A cat suddenly appeared, and the deer took notice.  Both stood about ten feet apart while looking at each other.   The deer then approached the cat and the cat moved away.
Several minutes later, the cat returned but was just walking across the deer's field of view.  The deer then followed the cat as it moved across my yard.
