Maybe it's time for south side residents to start to promote the South Side Better Block.
7TH WARD
BETTER BLOCK EVENT
OCTOBER 25, 2015
Jay, I already posted the 7th Ward Better Block event that will be held Oct. 25, 2015. I can not speak for the 6th Ward, but if you ask real nice iwasthere or rushblvd will kindly tell you what you need to know I'm sure. Have a great day my friend.
You still didn't say "I'm sorry for missing your post on the 7th Ward Better Block event on the 25th." That makes me sad because I do try to post as many 7th Ward events that I can.
It was never mentioned that October 25 is a Sunday.
If this better block was held on a Saturday, I would have taken a bus to it.
:'( :'( :'( Saddly I was not consulted concerning the day :'( :'( :'( No one even bothered to ask me if they could pick me up for this event. :'( :'( :'( I guess I'm not good enough for folks around here. :'( :'( :'(
Jay, come to think about it when the 4th Ward has a similar event, they had it two days ... a Saturday and a Sunday, so how did you get to the event on Sunday?
Look
The West Side Better Block was held on one day only, Saturday, September 26.
The north side's Better Block was held on a Friday and Saturday.
Maby you can have better luck in getting someone to offer to pick you up and take you to the event than I ever have. I've given up expecting any kindness from anyone.
it is October 25, 2015 from Irma ave to Sheridan blvd. the time is 10 am to 5 pm. come one and come all.
I read on the internet that the Better Block event will have free pierogies.
I sure hope they purchase pierogies MADE IN YOUNGSTOWN.

A friend from the south side thinks that the pierogies are being purchased from a Boardman store.
You got a friend on the South Side? ::) Shoot, I can spit in Boardman from my back door. So who in Youngstown makes pierogies any way? Me, gimmy a beer and a burger and I'm good to go.
I know of two church groups in Youngstown that make pierogies (pirohies) each week. One church on your south side sells pierogies every Friday (today).
Don't forget Mrs. T pierogies. Oh excuse me they are made in Pennsylvania. :'( :'(
The pierogies are being freshly made in Youngstown. NOT store-bought.
See Jay, we told you a hundred times that the pierogies are MADE IN YOUNGSTOWN BY YOUNGSTOWNERS FOR YOUNGSTOWNERS TO PUT INTO THEIR YOUNGSTOWN TUMMIES. NOW the big question that Jay is waiting for ... WERE THEY MADE ON THE WEST SIDE?
To improve the south side, I would only expect that this food item be made on the south side. That is how you help your own neighborhood.
Towntalk,
Please verify the maker of the pierogies when you attend the Better Block this weekend.
My dear friend Jay:
It would be my distinct pleasure to verify that the pierogies were made by the same folks that make them for the Church you spotlight on South Avenue IF iwasthere will be so kind as to bring me a plate of them on his way home from the event since he will be passing my abode on his way to his.
A friend gave me a ride to the south side better block today. I asked who made the pierogies.
The response was
A deli on Market Street in Boardman made the pierogies (all 1,000 of them).
That's not the answer I got at the pop up pierogie place when I asked.
Some positives
The weather cooperated.
The event was well attended.
Even the fourth ward councilman was there.
I met many people from the west side and north side. There were people from Girard, Hubbard, Liberty and Boardman to name a few.
I had my photo taken while sitting in a vintage corvette.
Good time-Loved the vendors (hope they get even more for next year)..Hats off to all those who set this FUN DAY up..

tt I would had if I read this blog before today in which is the day latter. :( they were good my frd, tt., next yr. there several members of this forum that was engaged in this event, moi. I read books that had democratic socialism underlying messages to the kids. ;) ::) ;D
I was told by the gentleman who organized the event that the pierogi came from a deli in Boardman.
I also enjoyed being on Midlothian Sunday. The weather cooperated; I had pie and coffee with friends at
the café. I also purchased some great Halloween cards, and my husband bought me some natural beauty
items from one of the vendors. Good job! I look forward to the one planned for the east side in the spring.
everything was delicious or delightful to the ears and souls.
ummm iwasthere-those books you were carrying !! they seem to travel all over the place :) Wink-Wink
What books? ??? ??? ???
the books that rush blvd is speaking about were books that was used to read to the children at the ssbb festival. the books came from the Newport library and the books were returned via brownleewoods library.
