The Youngstown Fire Department has taken delivery of a new 2002 Pierce Enforcer Rescue Pumper for the downtown fire station. The new rig will go in service on Thursday Sept 26, 2002. The Fire Department received a $200,000 grant from the Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA) to purchase the new pierce of equipment. The city only had to put $40,000 towards it. The new rescue engine will respond on all motor vehicle accidents where entrapment is necessary as well as any structure fires within city limits. Check out http://www.youngstownfire.com for photos and info on the new rescue truck and on the Youngstown Fire Department in general.
