Billy, what that tells me is that the pro charter amendments group doesn't have the support that it would have us believe it has.

Regardless of who cheered or not it is besides the question. There were ONLY 200 that found time to attend the forum at all and this doesn't say much for Youngstown voters and even LESS for those that support the amendment. These forums should be packed with the supporters, BUT THEY AREN'T which says very little about them and their leadership. No doubt they will come up with all sorts of excuses, BUT excuses don't cut it. IF THEY COULD FIND TIME TO PROTEST ON THE SQUARE, THEY COULD FIND TIME TO ATTEND THESE FORUMS AND THAT'S ALL THERE IS TO IT.

What is your source that the pipefitters do not live in Youngstown?

The fact that they are Pipefitters (employed) should be enough.  ;)

Billy Mumphrey

Head knocking? So are you saying the pipefitters will resort to violence to influence this election process? Do we not live in a democracy? Is this America or the former Soviet Union? China? North Korea? Iran?

Youngstownshrimp

V&M Star pipefitters pay large income taxes in Youngstown, they are pissed that the Fractivist are screwing with their jobs, so are the plumbers in Youngstown.  Be prepared for some head knocking over this communist tail trying to wag the "BIG" dog.

Billy Mumphrey

From a source who knows some of the pipefitters personally and that they do not reside in the city of Youngstown.

I was informed the large cheers against the charter Amendment came from members of the pipefitters union (many who don't LIVE in Youngstown) who are pouring big campaign bucks into the election. Seems the newspaper forgot to mention this fact that the anti-charter people packed the meeting.

For the most part, the wealthier people have left the City of Youngstown and are not coming back.  This is probably why the Youngstown Club closed and the republican party can't even find a single candidate to run for any office in the upcoming primary election.  As expected, Youngstown will be governed by those who remain.

Billy Mumphrey

To those of you who oppose the charter amendment, you should be happy it is on the ballot because it helped bring in money for political ads.

Mayoral candidates tell MVOC forum they DO NOT support the Anti-Fracking charter amendment ... Jamael Tito Brown and John A. McNally IV ... said NO to it, and those in attendance cheered.

Like a thief in the night, the MVOC silently organizes the community they want local control of.  Since their conception and morphing from ACORN and a leader from their ranks in Washington, more power is sought.
What is behind this FrackFree occupy Youngstown mission?  Local control.  Of course they decry the municipal government, any government not of their own.  Their state is nirvana, a citizens tribunal again with local control.  Listen to their language, inclusive, fair hiring, by the people, socialism.
They know they cannot survive without energy, this is not really what they fight, it is power they seek.  Lately, their nirvana Youngstown was turned upside down for them, just when they had control of the occupying youth, downtown Youngstown, defend Youngstown....... oil and gas was discovered.
Oh nooooo!!!!  the capitalist pigs and free enterprise will send their armies and reclaim  this once great industrial town.  Where will we go?  What will happen to us community organizers?
Frackfree Youngstown is a dying last ditch battle cry of the  community organizing socialist.  It is their last great chance to stop the global energy companies from taking back the great Youngstown.  Their drive is futile.  The new generation seeking real jobs see the blessings that is energy.  They undersatnd the science and advance technology that is now in their grasp.  The youth will no longer join the occupiers, they no longer will defend Youngstown, they are what they always were, what Youngstown is, industrialist!
