According to a report today from Cornell University, "fracking" (or hydraulic drilling for natural gas) will produce even more greenhouse gases than the burning of coal over the next two decades.

While politicians and even environmentalists tout natural gas as a "bridge fuel" between traditional fossil fuels and more earth-friendly forms of energy, today's report states clearly that the methane released in the early stages of the fracking process has a far greater impact on warming in the short term due to the chemical compounds found in the gas. In the long term, "the footprint of shale gas is at least 20% greater and perhaps more than twice as great on the 20-year horizon" compared to coal.

Just say NO to Fracking in the Mahoning Valley!!!!!
