Does anyone have any photos of the old Strouss Mansion
that used to be on 5th Avenue?  Any historical info?

St. Paul's Lutheran church was built onto the back of
the old mansion and growing up it was my family's
church. George Nieman was our pastor.

Someone told me that the house was torn down a number
of years ago because it had termite damage and was
in need of extensive repairs. I remember the inside of
the mansion, it was huge and very beautiful.

We used to have choir practice in the "Berean Room", a
large living room on the front, right corner of the
building with double french doors, a big fireplace and
a grand piano inside.

There was also a carriage house in one corner of the
parking lot behind the mansion - is it still standing?
I never got to see the inside of this.
