sean tims can turn some of the rooms into apts/bedrooms aka pension in europe. there are many weary travelers, artists/patrons of the arts that want a place to lay their heads for a night's rest at reasonable cost.

Jay the church building you are referring to is the former Bethel Church of God In Christ.

It started out its life as the Bethel Luthern Church many years ago.

The Bethel Church of God In Christ built a new church I believe on Glenwood Avenue.

Rick: Yes - similar to Ward (but nicer) from what he decribes at present. He's still trying to figure it out. What he does know is that he wants/needs residents. He is not looking to make a profit on the facility, per se, however, does want money to offset his utility costs at minimum. Stay tuned.

Jay: Not certain about the stained glassed windows, however, I believe it's the only church on Ridge, so, it might be the one you describe.

PK

Is that the same church on Ridge that keeps losing its stained glass windows?

If he does this it will be a positive thing for the Mahoning Commons District of downtown Y-town.
The Commons is and important part of the revitalization of downtown.

Something akin to whats in the Ward Bakery building?

DefendYoungstown

The building was purchased by an individual named Sean Tims. He is also the individual who purchased the old New Bethel church on Ridge Ave (and converted to a music venue for local bands). His plan is to covert the Calvin Center into a multipurpose live/work/gallery show/arts programming space for local artists. Sean lives in the city and is/has been a strong supporter of the community, particularly downtown Youngstown. He states that he believes that he will have the Center ready by April 1st.

What was the price at auction?

Who bought the building?

What does the new owner intend to do with it?

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.
