Art Outreach Program at the Eastwood Mall

On FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 2, 2007, the Art Outreach Gallery at the Eastwood Mall in Niles, Ohio, will kick off its second installment of exhibitions featuring art created by local and regional professionals as well as work by student artists. In addition to its regular installations, the gallery will also feature a special "show within a show" by internationally recognized pop art painter and comic creator CHRIS YAMBAR.

The special showcase of Yambar's work, entitled SUPER NOVA – THE CHRIS YAMBAR SHOW, will include over 150 canvas images, reverse glass paintings, and original comic art pages. This is an event you have to see to believe!  Special thanks to Jacob Bako, curator and Jeff Terlecki, assistant for their creation of this great public art exhibition.

Chris Yambar will appear at the gallery on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 3, for an OPEN GALLERY RECEPTION from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. The event is free and open to the public.
Chris Yambar will reappear at the gallery on SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 17, for a special COMIC BOOK SIGNING of his own titles a well as issues of BART SIMPSON COMICS, I DREAM OF JEANNIE, and Mr. MAGOO from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.  From 5:00 to 7:00 that evening, he will give a personal walk-through tour and talk about his work that is on display. You will not want to miss this tremendous opportunity to interact with one of our area's most popular and creative personalities.

Hours will be Friday 5:00pm to 9:00pm, Saturday 1:00pm to 9:00pm, and Sunday 1:00pm to 5:00pm. The gallery is free and open to the public.

will be operating through volunteer assistance, please consider sharing some

The Art Outreach Gallery is a new art appreciation initiative and community development project. The gallery serves the community by exhibiting artwork from local youth and adult artists. The gallery is located in the former Casual Corners storefront, along the concourse between Macy's and JC Penney's.  Exhibitions and programs are presented with support from the Eastwood Mall and the Warren Junior Women's League/GFWC.
