With two weeks left in session, Congress has a critical opportunity to extend two very well-functioning working family federal tax credits - the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and the Child Tax Credit (CTC).

Join us RIGHT NOW in letting Representative Tim Ryan know that Ohio working families are counting on him to protect the ETIC & CTC!

Tweet: .@RepTimRyan: #timeisnow to act on #workingfamilycredits for 407,000 Ohio families by saving #EITC & #CTC provisions @progressohio

Currently, Congressional leaders are negotiating a plan to make some business tax credits permanent. This plan MUST include EITC and CTC extensions and improvements.

The EITC encourages and rewards work, offsets federal payroll and income taxes and helps families meet their basic needs. The Child Tax Credit also helps low-income working families offset part of the cost of child-rearing.

Tweet NOW to ask Representative Ryan to stand strong in the fight for full renewal of the EITC & CTC!

Unless Congress acts, 407,000 households in Ohio – almost 4 times the population of Toledo! - will lose some or all of their working family tax credits. This loss would affect 778,000 Ohio children. A single Mom in Ohio, with two children, who works full-time at minimum wage would lose her entire CTC of $1,725 if Congress allows current provisions to expire.
