Lynds,

Try sending them to the public ftp server on the website,

ftp://yhhb@allthingsyoungstown.net

password is: youngstown

Just shoot me an email and let me know when you've uploaded them
....and thanks for the pics!

Lynds

Allan, for some reason i am unable to attach the photos i took...i will try again tomorrow. hmmmmm, can i email them to you?

AllanY2525

Lynds,

Do you still think you could send me some photos of the house with that
fantastic fireplace in it?

They would make a great addition to the Historic Homes galleries on the
web site.  Also, any historical info you might have on the house would
be great...

:)

Everyone, I have added more pictures, at the original link above.  Unfortunately, they don't paint such a pretty picture of the north side. (I didn't do this on purpose, it's just that this part of the neighborhood has declined further over the years.)

LYNDS I AM ZEALOUS OF YOUR FIREPLACE. >:(

AllanY2525

Lynds,

I am in Youngstown  - YAY !  I'll be here through the second week of December,
working on the house again.  The website is temporarily unable to do FTP file
uploads, as I had to install a new router/firewall in the house and it is not yet
configured to forward inbound FTP reqeusts to the right machine inside the
house.

In the mean time, if you have some photos you can send them to me
on Yahoo email and I'll get them up on the site once the router is properly
configured.  Right now I can't update the site until this is fixed.

Westsider, yupp I got 'em.. thanks... if you have larger originals, you
can upload them to the website via FTP if you want...

Lynds - I'll look forward to seeing them.  I'm coming up to youngsown this
month, most likely by the 15th so that I can do more work on Woodbine Ave.
I should be in town until about the 10th of December, if all goes well.

I'm planning on bringing my Sony Cybershot (nice, high-resolution) still
camera, as well as my digital camcorder on this trip.  I'd like to take
some photos of the Tod Engine museum site, some photos and video
at the Old Mill in Mill Creek Park, and some photos of the houses that
are currently boarded up around Wick Park - IF I can get [ legal ]access
to them while I am in town.

If anyone has any suggestions for "places" to photo-shoot or tape, I'd
love to get some of those as well... the website is sorely lacking this kind
of content.... and would be nice to show to out-of-towners that may be
planning a visit to Youngstown.... kind of like a video tour of places to
see and things to do in the city...

I would love to meet some of the folks from the forum on this next trip,
now that I can offer some kind of hospitality, ie: I have a kitchen, hot and
cold running water, a working toilet and HEAT in the place finally !!)

Maybe we could all figure out a date/time when we could meet for a little
get together at the house.  We could scrounge together some folding tables
and chairs, plastic picnic-ware and cups and throw a pot-luck dinner
party, perhaps... I can make a pretty mean Lasagna!

I'm driving the van up this trip, so hauling the stuff to and from the house
would not be a problem.

I'm certainly open to any and all suggestions from all of you... just email
me at allany2525@yahoo.com with ideas, etc - and then you all can consider
yourselves invited.

:)

Lynds

Allen,
I will take some pictures for you this evening and post them tomorrow, i only have a blackberry camera but it normally takes some pretty good pics.

Did you get my pictures from the "2 of 3" thread?

I'd love to see 833 and 836 Pennsylvania "immortalized" on your site. (the others... well... I didn't find as much charm remaining)

Thanks for the photos, WestSider

I see my house on Woodbine made the list... lol

You are the first person to ever upload anything to the web site, wish more folks
could contribute content.

Allan, I've uploaded the whole set.  Enjoy!

Lynds,

Please send the full sized, un-tweaked set...

One of the original ideas behind my website was to showcase the historic
homes and buildings in the city of Youngstown, for all to see and enjoy...
at one point, I met the guy who is currently living in the Wick Log Cabin
on Illinois avenue, and he had agreed that someday it would be okay to
photograph the interior of the place... I think his last name is Kennedy,
and he and his relatives run a bar on Oak Street (The "Royal Oaks" ?)

Anyways, he invited me in that day to see just a couple of rooms in the
log cabin, and I was TOTALLY FLOORED by the place...

People outside of Youngstown need to see that there are still things of
beauty and historical significance in this city... and that not all of it has
gone to crapp...

How long have you lived in the stone house?  Do you know any of the
history of the place, ie: when it was built, by whom, etc...

I'd absolutely love to put this stuff in the Historic Homes section of the
website.

Oh, by the way, the server crashed last night, but I have the backup server
online now.. lost a few files, but overall it could have been much worse.

Thanks!

Allan

beautiful! i live in the stone house next to the Renner Masion...take a look at this fireplace! I'm extremely lucky to have this piece of history in my own living room. http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc1/hs005.snc1/4159_536237189702_49102668_32023169_3272182_n.jpg

Amazing!  I've seen that pic before, but thought it was in one of the public/commercial buildings in the area.  I didn't realize it was part of someones apartment.

Which set do you want?  The large "untweaked" set, or the smaller presentable set?
