Tonight (last night) a building on Elm Street that was a former drug store caught on fire for the third time. The last time it was on fire some firemen were injured.

The owner of a grocery store next door had been trying to get the building torn down, but as usual the city procrastinated, and nothing was done, nothing that is until tonight.

As I write this at 2:22 AM, a crew is there demolishing what is left of the building and they have been there now for a couple of hours.

It sounds like they are loading the rubble into trucks to haul away, but how far they go beyond that remains to be seen when daylight comes, but since it is a corner lot, I do hope that they fill it in lest a car turning to go down the side street doesn't see a large hole and accidentally falls in.
