Face Masks Hide Your Expressions

A hand gesture that signifies a smile would be much better than the finger gesture signifying a frown of dislike.

Because of the coronavirus pandemic face masks, it is impossible for other people to see most of your facial expressions.

I smiled at someone yesterday, but they didn't even notice.  Perhaps we need a hand gesture that signifies a smile.

On the other hand, the face mask could be a good thing.  Suppose you are near other people and someone asks "how do you like my outfit?"  You could stick you tongue out and the person asking would not see your expression.
