PD

Drennen and Ray made a deal,at the table the day of the re drawing. Drennen offered to let Ray keep the garden district together in exchange for the areas Schenley west to meridian down to mahoning.
Also picked up the other half of McCollum

The northernmost part of the west side is now in the 3rd ward.

When the fourth ward boundaries were redrawn, the 5th ward became stronger and the 3rd ward became stronger.

From now on, call me the 7th Ward Viper!

Peggy Gurney

The 3rd ward may have come in second in terms of # of voters turnout, but I am exceedingly proud of MY neighborhood. They were out in droves!    ;D :)

Excuses excuses ... pathetic excuses ... we were under the impression that the 4th and 5thWards were the cream of the crop ... the elite ... the crem-dla-crem of society in Youngstown, and the shown down upon it warming the hearts and souls of the 4th Ward.
It's pathetic that the 4th Ward was swamped by the 2nd Ward, so this says very little about the 4th Ward voters, or more correctly, NON VOTERS.

Regarding the fourth ward race

Councilman Ray was a shoe in for retaining his seat.

When the ward boundaries were changed, the fifth ward picked up many of the better sections of the fourth ward.

You're right PD, the 7th came in 4th. BUT SHAME ON THE 4th WARD!

What a crying shame that the 2nd Ward voters topped the 4th Ward. Apparently they are too busy running around to the West Side restaurants to get out to vote.

PD

5th. 3rd then 2nd
The 4th Ward sure did drop off. Not good for Mike Ray
The 5th has significantly more then the others

;D  It looks like the 4th Ward had the poorest voter turnout May 5th.
THE TOP THREE WERE 5th WARD; 3rd WARD; and the 2nd WARD IN THAT ORDER.
So where were all those neighborhood groups?

Towntalk

WARD BY WARD BREAKDOWN OF VOTES CAST MAY 5th
1st Ward - 621
2nd Ward - 717
3rd Ward - 939
4th Ward - 612
5th Ward - 1316
6th Ward - 667
7th Ward - 706

Voter turnout can not be measured by this years primary. The 2016 primary and general election being a Presidential election will be a fair indecator. Also remember that here in Youngstown the only race was for City Council, there were no issues, and nothing really controversial on the ballot.
If ward by ward turnout is so all fire important to you, it will take at least five election cycles to get any real idea.
