Spend more money on a new building? Just keep spending the tax payers money....

Homeowners were advised to let some water run to prevent frozen pipes.  Did the YPD building's staff request the same?

According to the TV news, numerous pipe leaks took place in other government buildings around the area.  During extremely cold weather, someone should be on duty after working hours.  A leak caught early would help prevent the costly damage caused by water running for hours and hours.

Police Department and City Hall are 2 separate buildings. City Hall is in reasonably good shape for its age. Not a whole lot of maintenance issues.
The Police Department building on the other hand is a whole different story. It should have been condemned and demolished years ago. It is far past the stage where preventative maintenance...etc. will do any good. It was a cheap building when it was built and used to house the city jail on the top 2 floors. Time for TITO and his boys to take some action.

Do they need a new building or do they need to review maintenance procedures?

Do they have sensors to alert them to water breaks?  Our buildings in downtown do and the security company alerts the maintenance staff on call.  The maintenance person then heads to the building to check out the problem, no matter what time of day or night.

What is protocol to security alarms going off, such as water alarm sensors or any other sensory or security alarms.

What preventive maintenance measures are taken?  Are extra steps taken during extreme weather condition?
