Kasich's Budget Plan: Drill In State Parks! Oh No!!!

how can the budget have profits from oil wells on state parks when there is not any drilling going on as we speak at the oh state parks.

In addition to the drilling on state lands legislation that has been introduced in the House and Senate, drilling in State Parks is listed in Governor Kasich's budget according to the Plain Dealer this morning.  While the budget is officially released tomorrow, a top source within the Kasich administration told the Cleveland Plain Dealer that revenues from drilling in parks is listed in the budget. Let's get a head start on this by calling our legislators and the Department of Natural Resources today! The faster we respond and the more voices they hear from, the more chance we have of killing this thing! We have done it before - let's do it again!

50 million people visit parks each year. 
Our state parks belong to the people of Ohio and should be preserved for generations to come. They shouldn't be drilled or logged.   
Drilling and logging in our parks is a broken promise to all Ohioans. 
Tourism in parks and public lands generates significant revenue to local economies, but drilling/logging causes damage that puts that revenue at risk.     
Drilling disturbs wildlife habitats, pollutes water, and diminishes the enjoyment of park visitors and sportsmen.
The Buckeye Forest Council recently worked with other environmental organizations to release a study that proved that logging on state lands actually lost money.
Legislators on both sides of the aisle have voted against drilling in the past, because they knew it was the right thing to do.
The revenues from drilling and logging are minimal and finite. It cannot solve Ohio's budget problems and are not worth the risk.
MAKE SURE TO ASK THEM TO VOTE AGAINST DRILLING AND TO HAVE THE DRILLING & LOGGING LANGUAGE REMOVED FROM THE BUDGET!
