If there are rules that say the petition must be viewed by the public and the signatures
validated by the board of elections, that's fine.  But if council stonewalls until the
deadline has passed for getting it on the ballot, I hope there will be major public
outcry.

If anyone chooses to run against some of these self-serving idiots in the next election,
they would be fools if they didn't use this whole debacle to beat the incumbents about
their head and neck and make them look like the selfish individuals they really are.....

Drennan's statement hit the nail squarely on the head - how can council ask the city
to make any cuts in staffing or positions when council itself is not willing to do
what they should be doing.

These folks are gonna try to hold onto their fiefdoms until the very last.

At today's meeting, city council voted not to advance the ward reduction ballot issue that was recently submitted through a citizens' petition drive.
