Tariff's are a two edged sword as is protectionism.

Are we prepared to have our trading partners retaliate against tariffs.

One of the chief barriers that our domestic producers face is our own government as it makes it increasingly difficult to stay in business. Just spend some time looking over the Federal Regester to see what I mean. [By the way, you can go directly to the Federal Regester through my web site - http://farrell-report.tripod.com.

Almost on a daily basis, the federal regulators are making in increasingly difficult for domestic businesses to continue operating.

Example after example can be found where our own government is driving businesses into bankruptcy because of over regulation.

A second major problem as we all know is our trade policy. NAFTA and GATT have had the effect of devastating our manufacturing base, yet at the same time it has helped those segments of our economy that are thriving on import trade. The politicians talk about fair trade, but who was it that pushed NAFTA? THE DEMOCRATS UNDER BILL CLINTON, but how do we respond here in Ohio? BY VOTING FOR HILLARY CLINTON.

By the same token, old John McCain supports the deindustrialization of the United States.

End result, both political parties share the responsability for the sorry state our country is in, and all we will get is a lot of meaningless hot air between now and the November elections.

I watch Lou Dobbs each night on CNN and he tells it like it really is, yet for his millions of viewers, not even he has been able to put enough pressure on Washington to turn things around, because the simple fact of the matter is that none of the politicians in Washington care a bitabout the future of our country. NOT ONE OF THEM, EITHER REPUBLICAN OR DEMOCRAT!

But what about us? Do we really care? We keep electing the same people over and over again even though we know that they couldn't care less about us.

And how many of us even make a serious effort to inform ourselves about what is happening? Obviously not very many, so we are as much to blame as the people in Washington. As long as we can sit in front of our television sets and stuff our faces with junk food, while sloshing down a beer or two, we're happy.

We're more interested in what pizza to cram down our gullet than we are about what the future holds for our children, and that is pathetic.

Who will be the 1st Presidential Candidate to campaign on the Platform of "American Protectionism"?

It's almost a no brainier that this country is headed into uncharted economic territories and its time for this nation to Pull the Levers Up!  Our USA Businesses need protection against the unfair competition of imports.

Our nation's import trade policies are abused to the extremes and it has to be stopped by our leaders.  Health Care must be socialized and only made available to Americans who can prove a long family lineage in this country.  Restricted but free health care is better than the craziness that we have now.

Is Tariffs the answer?

What do you think?
