Title: Queen Of Hearts - 7th Ward
Post by: jay on July 26, 2017, 05:06:52 PM
I've heard the Queen of Hearts game jackpot at Crickets on East Midlothian Blvd. is very high.

How high is the jackpot?

When is the drawing day?

Over the past few weeks Cricket's had donated $8,000.00 to Golden String and Purple Cat.

Crickets also will have a separate 50-50 raffle at $1 per ticket. The winner will collect 50 percent of that jackpot, and the rest will go to Golden String radio, a local station run by adults with disabilities.
Last Monday, the games drew a crowd of about 1,000 people, Piatt said. Since the Crickets interior can hold only about 100 people, patrons also gather on the patio, under a tent outside and in the parking lot.

With 1,000 people or more, I'm sure there will be a traffic jam near Crickets.

THIS MESSAGE WAS POSTED TODAY ON THE 7WCC FACEBOOK PAGE BY BEV CLARK UHLMAN.

WHY are they picking on Crickets?? i figure someone is complaining
"Queen of Hearts Drawing Notice
We would like to apologize for having to rework our Queen of Hearts layout over the past few weeks and take the time to explain why we we have been forced too. Last Thursday, we were informed YPD Vice officers, that all beer sales must be conducted inside our patio area and that We needed to change how our crowd was being handled. We were also informed an F Permit would need to be filed to conduct sales outside of our patio area. We contacted a local charity (Golden String Radio/Purple Cat) to begin working on the permit and were willing to donate all sales to the local charity. When, the charity contacted the Cheif to sign the permit, the chief took the permit and told us he would get back to us. he did not return their numerous phone calls until Monday morning but at that point it was to late to apply for the permit. We continued to comply with his previous request regardless of the permit outcome and set up sales inside our patio area. The police department also asked us to not allow customers to leave the patio area with alcohol. Once again, we complied by adding 3 additional police officers, 4 additional security guards and posted 3 ft signs at all exits notifying patrons they could not take alcohol beyond a certain point. After delaying our permit the chief of police then sent Liquor Control and YPD Vice to the drawing last night to cite us knowing that we would not be able to control the amount of people that were on our property. During last nights drawing Vice officers and liquor control whom were sent by the chief of police were able to cite us for alcohol being consumed out of our business. We were informed that vice would be closing crickets if We did not comply with the liquor ordinance, it was at this point that We decided to have the drawing early to try and clear the crowd so that we would not have to shut down our business. We have done everything in our power to comply with the law. Yes, the crowd was larger than normal, and yes a few customers ignored our officers and notices about not taking alcohol into the parking lot and we were cited last night. Also, during last night's drawing we were informed by Youngstown Vice officers and Liquor Control agents to pull the drawing early. We again complied and drew at 7:30, then we were also informed by YPD Vice officers that our 50/50 raffle was illegal. I'm not sure what exactly is illegal because 50% of the proceeds go to a charity and the remaining 50% goes to the winner, not to mention that Everyone in the state carries them to raise money for charities .so how are we being penalized for something everyone else does? We will once again comply with YPD and discontinue all 50/50 sales going forward. All we were trying to do is raise money for two wonderful charities who are committed to our community and the residents of our city. Agent VanHorne, also informed us that Chinese auctions are illegal im the midst of our drawing last evening. Im not sure why they have chosen to attack our charities and our business but please be assured we are doing everything we can to make our drawing work smoothly. We have already reached out to our legal counsel for assistance in getting clarity on the raffle, the drawing, the harassment by city officials and issues pertaining to our permits.
We apologize for having to be rude and for having to herd you in like cattle last night. We do not like to treat our patrons like that, but once again we were forced to draw early and force everyone on to the Patio for our drawing.
We would like to thank everyone who was in attendance last night for their continued support of Crickets Bar and Grill and our staff. We will be taking Tuesday, August 1st off for some much needed rest. Ticket Sales will resume starting August 2nd at 11 am . Next Drawing will be Monday, August 14th.
Lastly, thank you to WKBN 27 Youngstown OH, 21 WFMJ - Youngstown, OH and The Vindicator for the phenomenal coverage of our drawing."

I read the rules on the qoh and they do vary on which type of info that is needed on the ticket. On the 7th ward council fb pg she refers to him as mayor elect. I have not come across any tb support ers. Sm has more city hall experience then the other  mayoral candidates.
