West Side Youngstown / Time to Cut Grass
Last post by jay - April 05, 2024, 06:01:02 AM
I went for a walk yesterday.  I noticed that many lawns are in need of a cutting.
The problem is the ground is very wet from all the recent rain.
Unfortunately, I walked across my lawn and actually left muddy stained footprints on the grass.

West Side Youngstown / Re: Fuel Leak at Former Palko'...

I passed this area late today.  A city truck was there and a pump appeared to be pumping contaminated water into a series of three IBC tanks and ultimately into a large green tank on wheels.  There was a faint smell of gasoline in the air.

The initial liquid run-off from this incident flowed into the storm sewer next to the pothole I reported about several days ago.

We've had heavy rains like that before and probably even heavier rains a time or two without any leak so I figure the tank(s) have been slowly filling up and Tuesday's heavy rain was probably just the straw that broke the camel's back.

I liked that store. I may have been the first person to ever have a key cut there on what looked like (and probably was) a brand new old fashioned style key cutter that took a bit of skill to operate. Much better than anything that held the key with plastic grabbers and did the cutting inside a magical box. I will admit that I haven't bought too much there but I sure prefered to check there (and at Handyman) before even trying Home Depot.  FWIW, if neither of them had what I was looking for I'd hit up Family Farm (whatever) and Tractor Supply before HD even though I live within 2 miles of TS and HD.

Now I gotta spend today trying to figure out what I'll need to buy when I show up there tomorrow.
