Title: Was This Appropriate To Say?
Post by: jay on February 08, 2013, 09:47:41 AM
In reference to the VXI $125,000 bus transporation subsidy for workers to be driven to a parking lot two blocks away, councilwoman Tarpley justified this expenditure by saying  "VXI employs a lot of city residents who, without a job there, would be out busting heads instead."

Quite inappropriate.

And it doesn't even make sense.

Some questions:

Is the city required to supply the transportation or just the free parking?

Is the quality of people employed at VXI that bad?

Are people threatening to quit their jobs to become criminals if the transportation ceases?

Is VXI threatening to leave the city if the transportation ceases?

Is VXI threatening to leave the city because of Tarpley's comments?
