Restaurants/Bars Should Underwrite

Before and after each performance, an announcement should be made stating, "This play is being underwritten by the Buckeye Restaurant located at 1000 Youngstown Street in downtown Youngstown.  Please stop by the Buckeye Restaurant for great food and drinks after tonight's show."

Forte on the 50 and the Summer Festival of the Arts, previously posted on this site's calendar for July 7-9 could provide some opportunities for downtown restaurants. Both events are on YSU's campus, but numerous activities take place at cultural locations i.e. Steel Mueum, Butler etc. I am open for ideas and may be reached at lafactor@ysu.edu

As said before, downtown summer events are few and far between.  Restaurants and bars should approach performance venues such as the Oakland Center, Victorian Players and the Ford Theater, and offer to underwrite additional performances for the summer.  By offering some financial assistance the eateries could work to spread out entertainment events to additional days of the week.   The performances would bring people to downtown Youngstown.  The restaurants and bars would see more customers.
