I also found a list of tanks with Active Releases(leaks?).  The Petra Food Mart is on the list and not sure if it has been resolved.  Bears Den and Schenley is on the list and it appears to be resolved.  I could not find the other station on Elm Street on any of the lists.

My concern is the fact that there are 2 former gas stations on Elm Street between Broadway and Thornton that have been closed a long time, and I do not recall seeing the tanks removed. One was closed for a number of years before I moved onto that street, and the other was closed several years ago when the owners went to jail.

This website will give you the info:

http://www.com.ohio.gov/fire/

Use the LOOK IT UP on the right hand side, part way down the page. Look up Underground Storage Tanks. It will download a very large excel spreadsheet-it shows all the stations in the state!

They do not show very many that are not in compliance in Mahoning County.  However,  the person that has just been charged with fraud is shown as still being active and in compliance.  The gas station at Bears Den and Schenley, that is parts of that charge, has been closed for several years.  I don't know how they find out when a gas station is closed.

Here is a list of the stations that have not removed the tanks after being closed(according to the states list):

There are a number of closed gas stations in Youngstown, but how many of them are in compliance with state law that states that when a gas station is closed, the owners ARE REQUIRED to have all storage tanks removed?
