The ranks of the entitled, where most leaders of the Valley come from, look around, surprised?  I no longer am.

On a front page story in today's Vindy, Austintown Township Trustee Chairman Jim Davis says they may miss out on a $20 million dollar project because of State budget cuts.

A company that wants to locate its headquarters here is predicating it's decision on a needed road repair that will cost about a millon dollars. The County says it could help with about $250,000 of the cost, but Trustees say they have no way to contribute.

In a letter to the Vindicator, Trustee David Ditzler said, "We had to decline participation, which will jeopardize the project....all because of state funding cuts, that were in Gov. John Kasich's words, aimed at making Ohio a more advantageous option for businesses to locate."

Here's where it starts to get good. According to  Davis the company said that, "Whatever the township can do, even 10 percent which would be $25,000." But Davis added, "Our hands are tied, we can't do anything."

A spokesman for Kasich's office was puzzled by the Trustee's claim that the State's budget cuts are harming their chances to lure business, because Kasich's budget doesn't even begin until July. The spokesman also expressed surprise that the Trustees didn't even call the State's Department of Development because they have money specifically for road improvements to lure new businesses.

As if all this isn't enough, consider that the Township's annual budget is $16.5 million dollars. Can you imagine people being so incompetent that they can't find $25,000 out of a $16.5 million dollar budget to insure a $20 million dollar project and the associated jobs? Where do these people come from?
