In going back to the older issues of the Vindicator - 1900 to 1910 there are many fantastic stories about the Central Square in the paper especially in the Sunday Man on the Monument column.

I love the photo.....all the cars and buses, all the leople, so alive and vibrant
on the central square back then (or "The Diamond", as some called it)

One thing I never did like was the gradual downsizing of the islands in the middle.
I always wished the city would restore it some day, but then that will probably
never happen.

No that was my bad. I forgot to change the file name.

Towntalk, my friend....is this a trick question?

The filename of the photo you uploaded is 1936.jpg - so this will be my guess
but then you love a good brain teaser so the filename could be a red herring to
throw us off a little.

:)

Obviously this picture is of Central Square, BUT in what year was this picture taken?
