Mahoning county needs to set up a "trash transfer station".  We have one here that allows ANY county
resident (with ID showing residency) to drop off the following items six days a week:

motor oil
anti freeze
paints
car batteries
metals
electronics
refrigerators (they remove the freon for recycling before scrapping them)
general household trash
furniture

Online searching for Mahoning Counties collection dates I found this: http://www.startrecycling.com/images/pdf/2016_events.pdf

Trumbull County (partnered with Geauga County) has collections EVERY Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM from May 4th through October 26th plus a few Saturday mornings for good measure. More than 30 opportunities to recycle over a 6 month period for Trumbull/Geauga residents. This is at least the 3rd year with a similar schedule.

Mahoning County, on the other hand, gives us a 2 hour window (based on last name) once or twice a year and from what I can find online there are NO hazardous waste collections scheduled for this year.

I'm tired of keeping my old electronics and such waiting for a collection date only to end up needing to work and miss it. I'm cleaning out the basement today and will decide shortly whether to just toss it all in the trash myself or take them to one of the drop off sites and let the green team toss them into their dumpster. I'm leaning towards the latter. Maybe if we all did it that way they would get the message.
