Some time ago, there was a guy out in Austintown at night going down Mahoning Avenue taking pictures when an off duty Austintown police officer stopped him and questioned what he was doing ... the guy had a chip on his shoulder and the police officer called for assistance, and this same mouthy dude threatened both officers by dragging them into court for violating his civil rights, and when he got home he put a video up on youtube about the whole incident.
What's with these people?

I think the city should have the right to indemnify itself against frivolous lawsuits that could
result from irresponsible actions of those who are not city employees or representatives, and
therefore not covered by the city's insurance policy.

The man stated he does not have the $300 fee - but there are about hundred people planning
to attend.

If each one donated $3.00 to cover the cost of holding the event downtown, the cost  would
become a non-issue.....right?  No one is denying them their right to free speech - the city
is excercising it's right to cover its a●● from lawsuits - and save the taxpayers some $$$$.

In any event, the law director already said the ordinance doesn't apply - so if another party
wants to dispute the ordiance in the future - let them do it for themselves..IF it even happens
at all..

That's another thread.  ;)

We're talking about two different cases. The $300 case involved a man who had several sick dogs removed from his house.

And they're going to open the doors to outside drinking?
