Luckily the theater is fine. Bar next door, former viking lounge, had heavy damage.

My concern is the smoke damage to the theater ... as it is the Uptown is at risk of being demolished ... since no one has gone in there to check everything out, we don't know if it has been vandalized. Next, the days of single screen theaters is coming to an end. Most distributers are shying away from marginal theaters, and there is also the costs of updating the theaters. The Foster shows porn so it does not have the problems that a family oriented theater would have in getting pictures.

The theater was not damaged by smoke. The theater recently changed hands, and the new owner was on site. He gave me permission to go through the whole building. Didn't even smell smoke. I'll post another thread with pics.

City Council just approved the payment of $60,000 for the emergency demolition of the buildings that burned.
