Hey now, I'm a good 7 months past 55 yrs old and as much as I don't really appreciate what's usually on local stations I sure don't want to stuck in an elevator with soft and easy favorites from the 70's.  The closest I could get to that would be "Beth" but only if they played "Rock and Roll All Nite" or "Detroit Rock City" more often than that one.

Hopefully most people will know the band I'm speaking of without doing some googling, even if "Beth" is the only song recognized.

Along with "Beth" playing once in a while I could also deal with:

10cc  "I'm not in Love" 1975     https://youtu.be/STugQ0X1NoI

Alice Cooper, "Only women Bleed" 1975, a song that does get somewhat less soft for a minute or so in the middle and is far from being about what you'd think.   https://youtu.be/ZgkNqu13SP0

And there are some others that didn't jump to the top of my mind today....but stay tuned there may be more to come.

I quit listening to my car radio years ago.  I rarely listen to the radio at home.

I wonder if there is an internet streamed station with the program format you desire.

The valley needs a new radio station that plays soft and easy favorites from the 70's to today. People over 50 need something they can listen to. Everything on our current radio stations make me want to pull my hair out...
