Defend Youngstown

Here is a sample of what e-letters will look like. Instead of a lists of event, I'd like to outline a "here's what to do" on a given night in downtown so that folks who might not be familar the downtown have a nice plan for an evening. This works for folks who are familar with downtown as well. We'll adjust as needed but this is the idea. Also, be sure to email at events@cityofyoungstownoh.com to be added!

SATURDAY: "Dog Sees God" - Oakland Theater (8pm)
This is an "unauthorized parody" that features the Peanuts gang - all grown up. Written by Bert V. Royal, this dark comedy takes place ten years after the events in the fifty-year-running comic strip. It begins with CB's account of the day he had Snoopy put to sleep... and it goes down hill from there! Directed by Robert Dennick Joki.

Show dates: March 14, 15, 16, 20, 21, 22

SUNDAY: 30th Annual St. Patrick's Day Parade w/ Grand Marshall Kelly Pavlik (1pm)

The Parade begins at 1pm at Market St. and McClurg Rd and proceeds north to Southwoods Ave.

Also, join the Youngstown Steelhounds for a 4:05 game (City Employee Night).

Following the game, head over to Rosetta Stone who is celebrating its first St. Patrick's Day Sunday and Monday. Sunday night, DJ Snake will spin from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. There will be giveaways for the best dressed, most Irish, most enthusiastic and most beads. They will also have specials on all Irish drinks, whiskeys and scotch. Monday, they will kick off the morning with kegs and eggs and will continue their drink specials throughout the day.

Finish up the evening at authentic Irish bar County Maigh Eo (706 Steel St.) with some Irish Bagpiping and Step Dancing from Tara's Fire.

ST. PATRICK'S MONDAY: Imbibe Martini Bar's St. Pat's Anniversary Party (12pm)
Youngstown's own, Imbibe Martini Bar would like to remind you that St. Patrick's Day falls on a Monday this year.  Staying with tradition, Imbibe will open at Noon on Monday, March 17th to celebrate the holiday.  In addition to this being a day to commemorate a patron saint of Ireland , March 17th is also the two year anniversary of Imbibe Martini Bar's grand opening.  Imbibe will have drink specials all day on March 17 in honor of both these events.  Please join us at 124 Federal Plaza West on St. Patrick's Day to celebrate and imbibe.

After you've imbibed, stop on over to Barley's across the way to check out their St. Pat's event featuring local bands 5 Elements and Jones For Revival.
