Nay, nay, a thousand times nay. Most full service restaurants serve liquor, but their main product is their food ... Overture; MVR; Royal Oaks; Golden Dawn etc.
Bars serve "bar food", but a family doesn't dine out on "bar food".
By the way many of the restaurants maintain an extensive supply of wine, whiskey; and beer for cooking purposes as well as drinking. Hence the need for a liquor license.

Being that Keynote referenced a restaurant and you referenced a bar, I'd imagine they may be different.

Not necessarily.  On this site, any establishment that has a liquor license is "a bar."
Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

cc4, here's a good idea. Compile a directory of all the locally owned family run restaurants in the area, and do a "Cash Mob" on them, and have that list available on this website. I know of three restaurants in town that are not only locally owned, but very popular with deep roots in the community.

Could these be the same project?

I would add that we should patronize locally owned restaurants instead of the chains.  These are

usually run by people that live in the area and may purchase produce, supplies, etc. from our local

vendors instead of having them trucked in from corporate headquarters.

We're working on that very thing my friend, and let me add that your work downtown helped bring it to where it is. It was many little things that combined for the bigger good. I know that people I've talked to like the idea of setting aside a special day when we would meet at their restaurant and dine, and would welcome us with open arms. Once everything is finalized we'll let you know.

QuoteCould we convince Jay to restart having a spend some money downtown day

Numerous activities are taking place downtown.  Restaurants and bars have opened.  Apartment buildings are filling.  The downtown is booming.

We should concentrate on saving our own side of town.  Organize your own South Avenue dine out.  Get the residents of the south side to support the businesses and eateries on the south side.

Could we convince Jay to restart having a spend some money downtown day. It was a great idea.

I have not heard of a new one, yet.  Downtown has more restaurants than people to fill them.

@KeynoteMedia: Rumors are flying big time about a new restaurant coming to downtown Youngstown...but you didn't hear that from me.

Any ideas?
