Ever since the Shale Oil controversy first surfaced in the valley, we have been inundated with theories, half truths and outright lies by people who are not expert on oil exploration, or for that matter, much of anything else, but are simply sponges soaking up the propaganda that is being propagated by people who could honestly care less about our valley, or its future.

The environmentalists are like the doomsday survivalists we see on the History Channel, wild eyed fanatics that believe that in spite of every shred of evidence to the contrary, our planet is doomed. They swore that the world would come crashing to an end in a catastrophic event on December 21, 2012, yet here we are today ... December 21, 2012 came and went and nothing happened. Now they are going back to the drawing board to find yet another date to hang their hats on.

We're talking about Youngstown's future, and the future of our children and our children's children, yet these eco-fanatics would deny them any and all hope for a better life, and this isn't just wrong, it's criminal.

If these self styled environmentalists were forced to present their case in a court of law, where absolute fact rules, they would fail to prove their case, yet they come before us on the public square they would tell us that they are the ultimate authority on everything under the sun, moon and stars, and that we must take their word for it, and gullible people would accept their word simply because they may have a Ph. D after their name.

In the case of the doomsayers, people with Ph. D's  were used to convince us that the world end on December 21, 2012, yet they were dead wrong, and still will not admit it. The same is true with those who are opposing Shale production, and if they want to condemn their children to having to survive on the dole, that is their decision, but as for the rest of us, like our fathers and grandfathers before us, we prefer to give them a better life than we had.

"It is because you suck that we frack!"
