State Budget Woes

Having read a 13 page memo on the new state budget, The most important note to come from that is the projected shortfall now that the video lottery terminals have been cut by the Supreme Court. I believe that the governor is scrambling to get a referendum on the ballot for the spring primary; which means that the earliest the VLT's could be operating would be some time next summer. That also means that, at best, only half of what they hoped to receive will be realized in 2010.

The projected income from VLT's was $295,800,000. 00 in 2010 and $637,400,000. 00 in 2011.

At best, the budget is in trouble. At worst, we're all in deep $#!%.

Still think Ted Strickland is doing a good job?
