The upcoming WIC sequester cuts is nothing but a big scam. There are no real cuts.
The FY 2013 budget proposes $7.04 billion for the WIC program, an increase of approximately $423 million over last year. The sequester will cut $340 million from the program. Obama is claiming that 600,000 women and children will be denied benefits.
However the math doesn't add up. $423-$340 still equals an $83 million increase over last year. So there is no real cuts to the program, but there is an $83 million increase. A close investigation of each of these so called domestic sequester cuts will show that the cuts amount to just a decrease in the amount of increase over last year.
