Title: Fire Downtown Today
Post by: jay on June 22, 2017, 04:31:26 PM
Someone tossed a lit cigarette into the mulched flower bed next to City Center One today and caused the mulch to smolder and catch fire.  The guard at City Center One quickly dowsed the fire with a bucket of water.

Sadly, it happens frequently during the summer months.  People can't walk two extra steps to put their cigarettes in the designated receptacles.  Or just as bad, tossing them on the ground next to the "ashtrays".   Or using the flower pots as ashtrays.

Most occupied buildings in downtown have a place to discard cigarettes near where you enter the building.

There is no excuse for all the cigarette butts you see in downtown-just smokers who don't care.  The city and the property owners should not have to clean up after these ignorant people.

Done ranting for now.
