Title: My Concerns with this "MVOC"
Post by: ytowner on March 09, 2010, 02:51:53 PM
I spent this Tuesday of my spring break researching this Mahoning Valley Organizing Collaborative. Here is what I uncovered: http://mvred.com/index.php/archives/local/266-mvoc-arm-of-acorn (http://mvred.com/index.php/archives/local/266-mvoc-arm-of-acorn)

Judging by what I have read, I honestly believe that the MVOC may be the local operating arm of ACORN. If you guys know more about this group let me know. I am sure I missed a lot of stuff.

Thank God, finally people are beginning to see thru this Marxist plot to promote their own candidates in our local politics.  Keep digging, these people are dangerous and are out to amass a large voting block to overthrow capitalism!  Look into their push to create a new landbank that fly's in the face of socialist seizure of property.  Check out how they stepped on a real estate investor and closed down fee enterprise on the south side with no due process.  They will not engage in honest debate, they hide and call you inflammatory.  Thank God they did not get the HUD money because they were gearing up for it with a new "morph" company, the YNDC.

I am such a radical conservative... Is it the American way of life to boycott a local grocery store owner because he uses non-union labor? You want to talk about radical, your green agenda is pretty profound in my eyes and the eyes of millions of Americans.

Yeah! To hell with inner city neighborhoods exercising their democratic rights!
Not exactly sure what you were trying to imply in this post???

Don't mind the Bobster, he wants to be green, but doesn't really know how. I think he is going to give away his combustion engine for a Mao Tse Tong bicycle.

And the other post, I think it was some sort of battle cry?  or maybe just a grunt of some sort.

To the News and Views Little Boy......Unions made the Middle Class.....read a history book at college, chump...

you, shrimphead, rowlands, sarge, and Moanus are destroying America with your conservative Fascist thoughts and deeds......you adore the rich, although they will never let you in their country club, you hate the poor, yet conservative economic policies will keep you closer to the poor than you think.....

you hate social, progressive ideas such as perserving our environment and national parks, regulating wall street, and managing big business from raping the poor....

Face it, you play the race card, you hate the people that make up the inner city, the poor, and working classes of this great country......You drink the kool-aid and it has killed your compassion for your fellow man.
You think you're christians, but you truely are not.....

I am not a racist buddy. I played high school football at Ursuline with a number of black student-athletes and I have no problem with any of them. People like Coach Rollen Smith, now at YSU, are fabulous citizens that are doing a ton of good for our community. He works at the Juvenile Justice Center and is there daily helping get the problem "youth" back on track in life because everyone has a purpose on this earth.

You throwing around the race card is wonderful when you do not know what the heck you are talking about. My generation, for the most part, has moved beyond race. You can continue living in the past all you want, but you are full of yourself.

You know buddy you will never be elected to any political position because all you do is name call and make yourself look like a damn fool. Maybe the fact this nation is extremely is a reason I don't support those programs?!

Some 2000 years ago someone wrote down that a man made a statement along the lines of " The Poor will Always be With You ".

So far that statement has remained correct, and we still have people who believe they can change that.....Amazing......

If one ever travelled and seen the real poor of the earth, the entitled here can be missidentified as the middle class.

Again, Novotney reveals to us that he believes everything they put in front of him.  Hasn't your parents ever told you not to believe everything you read?

Ohio works is a failure for both parties.  Oh yeah on paper it looks great, just like the MVOC.  Tax suckers in the public sector need to justify their existence, this is why Novotny blogs alot, he has nothing to do.  If one were to look into the JFS who is the Ohio works, 3000 or more able bodied individuals sit idle while collecting assistance.  Reality is that the public sector will not mobilize them to work.  Ohio works is suppose to work like the old WPA.  It is a mystery, why the City or County do not utilize this resource, the Bobster should preach to them to be green!  In Poland Village we built stone wall in parks with this manpower, we show free movies with them.  Many in this blog, talk, talk, and hide  but do nothing because it looks good on paper.

What, the foul language, or the moderation of it?  I'm more likely to stay, and I know others are likely to join, if the foul language and name calling are cut out.

Where are these better boards? (seriously)  I don't know of any Youngstown/Mahoning Valley boards better than this one.

LMAO. Woozle needs to toughen up a bit. In America, you have the freedom of speech, therefore shrimp's comments are fine. If you disagree with them that is fine, but no need to make such a big fuss about it.

From a "freedom of speech" point of view, just about anything is fine.

From a "what kind of person is speaking" point of view, the condesending nature of some posts is also fine. It lets us know exactly what kind of person is speaking.

I also wanted to comment on the Forum Manger's post.

I've been on several forums over the years. I've seen inappropriate posts edited and sometimes deleted. I've seen members banned for continuous misbehaviours, and one forum won't think twice about completely deleting every post you've ever made when you get bannned (quite stupid and childish IMO), but I've never seen all the inappropriate passages collected and quoted.

Not judging, good or bad, right or wrong, just got a chuckle out of it.

This thread was reported to me. I attempted  to specify which parts of the thread were inappropriate just in case people don''t realize they are out of line. Have I ever done it before?  NO  Not in the MANY years this forum has been online.

See this post.
http://mahoningvalley.info/forum/index.php?topic=7835.msg24677#msg24677

I don't want to delete or ban anyone.  I am also for free speech. - Well - we've deleted a few of the people that post nonsense  to advertise links to drug sites... but if you are a member of the local community or have local ties and come here for discussion I don't care if you are red, blue, green, black, rainbow  or grey.  I DO care that I am pulled into what I feel are sophomoric name calling sessions that do nothing more than waste bandwidth and hosting space.

And please be reminded we are still on the crazy fundamentalist Utah server  that can and HAS  shut me down in a heartbeat for swear words that appear on the forum.  I just have not had the energy, time or money to move all the sites elsewhere.

Please  again I remind folks -
No foul language, no name calling, no slander/gossip - if you didn't see it or hear it yourself don't spread it ... this is a FAMILY forum.

If you want to bash each other please go to Vindy.com.  You can even bash each other there and post a link to the bashing here so you don't have to type it twice.

I promise I will install an IGNORE feature when I get a chance.

I don't understand how it is similar to a discussion forum.
There is one person writing a blog and no comments that I can see.
I must be missing something.

What a lovely site! Let's promote Youngstown!

youngstownfire.com has really great discussion boards but also subject specific.
