PLEASE NOTE: I am no longer streaming the Youngstown Police or the Mahoning Valley Emergency Services feeds any more due to computer issues. They may return in the future but for now I am not spending any money on infrastructure to maintain those feeds anymore. I am still keeping the Youngstown Fire feed operational. Thank you for your support of the feeds.

4/27/2007 Update...
I have the YFD feed back up and running but I am having some issues with the Police feed. I hope to have it back in normal operation this weekend. Tuesday, I had the power supply in the PC burn up. I replaced it but I'm not sure if the sound cards were damaged. Getting 4 sound cards running on 1 computer is a delicate dance :)
4/28/2007 Update...
I think I have all the feeds back up and in regular operation. If anyone has problems, please post a reply here... http://mahoningvalley.info/forum/index.php?topic=1948 or PM me.
Thanks!
Greg
sounds good! thanks for all of your efforts.
Update 9/21/2007
The feeds are messed up again. I will be troubleshooting the problem after 7pm tonight.
Hang in there and hopefully everything will be back up and working later this evening.
Greg
No problem - as with anything else computer and internet related, there are bound to be glitches.
Thank you very much for providing this service for us, Greg.
Update: 9/21/2007 11:56pm
I believe I have the feeds back and the correct radios sending out the correct audio.
As I mentioned before, computers weren't designed to have 4 sound cards running inside it :) Please take a couple minutes and test the feeds and see if they are broadcasting correctly, if not drop me a private message on the forums here.
Sorry it took so long. I got one of my radios back from Uniden. The screen went bad on the radio and I had them replace it. I hooked that up last weekend and restarted the live feed for that radio and I think it messed up the settings for all the other feeds. I also started a new job this past week so tonight was the first chance I had to get everything back to normal operations. Thanks again for bearing with me.
There is a slim chance that the feeds may be down for a brief period of time. I'm going to have to switch my Time Warner Road Runner connection around since I was getting the internet through my old place of employment. I have to get them to start billing me directly. Hopefully, they can switch it without interruption in my internet service but there is always a chance that things might not go as planned. I'll try and keep everyone updated as much as I can.
Happy monitoring!
Greg
Greg,
Thanks much. Appreciate all that you do.
PMDragon@neo.rr.com
Much appreciated, Greg.
The feeds are offline (as of 12/10) due to my cable modem dying. I am hoping to be able to replace the unit this evening. I'll post a reply when they are back up and running.
The feeds should now be back online. I replaced the cable modem and my network is back up and operational. Thank you.
Hi Greg, Thanks got message that feed's back up today. But, its still not coming through here.
Thanks for all you do. Wish you the best for the holidays!
PMDragon
Ok I think the feeds are operational again. I had to reboot the computer. I also had a friend test both the fire and police feeds and he was able to access them. Give it a try and let me know.
Yes they are working now. Thanks much, really appreciate the time it involves for you to do all this.
PMDragon
Excellent! Good to hear that someone else can access the feeds. Enjoy!
Hi again,
Are the live feeds down? Last night (3/15/09) while listening to YPD feed it suddenly quit and I haven't been able to access it since. Thanks for any help.
PMDragon@neo.rr.com
The feeds should be back up this evening (3/16). I had to do some major work on the feed computer. I'm working on getting everything set back up and operational again.
Thank you very much for providing the scanner feeds, Greg.
As you can see they are "in demand"!
Your work is greatly appreciated.
Hi Greg,
Streams are coming through.
Not sure it the feeds are active since there was no activity...seems like it is working though.
I will leave one until I hear people.
If someone else is a regular listener perhpas they could report.
Thank you so much for providing the feeds.
maxina
All three feeds are back in normal operations. I've added a link to the YNG/Mahoning Valley feed so you can listen to Youngstown and the surrounding area. That feed is mostly fire with Rural Metro, Clemente EMS and Ohio State Patrol District 4 thrown in for some excitement. Should something big happens and I'm not there, I can control or reprogram the scanner remotely.
Enjoy and thanks for everyone's support. The computer seems to run much faster and looks a whole heck of a lot better. I'll post some pics of my streaming setup soon :)
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Feed's working better than ever! Clearer audio and less backgroumd hum. Good Job!! Really appreciate what you do.
Thanks Greg!
Having trouble with YPD feed, suddenly not working tonight. Tried the new feed (Mah. Valley) it works . But YPD worked for 15 sec. and quit and every time I tried it again it just replays the same 15 sec. and quits, when I stopped it and tried playing it again I get "buffering" but it never starts back up.
thanks for any help.
All three feeds are currently down as of 8am on 6/18/2009.
I had to pull the computer due to several problems with Windows XP. I hope to have the computer rebuilt and the feeds operational again by this evening.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
The police and fire feeds are temporarily offline as of 8am on 6/18/2009.
I am having problems with Windows XP on the machine and have pulled it to reformat and reinstall. I hope to have the feeds back up and running some time this evening.
I'll post any updates as I get them.
Sorry for any inconvenience.
No need to apologize, Greg. Thanks for all you do to make the feeds possible for our community.
The feeds are back up and operational for now. I may have to take them offline sometime this weekend to reformat the computer. I didn't get around to that yesterday.
I'll post an update here when I take the feeds offline for upgrades.
Thanks much, really appreciate it.
Hi everyone,
The yfd feed is up and running. Check the address in the first post of this topic for the new URL. If you have problems with connecting let me know and I'll investigate.
The YPD and Mahoning County feeds are being worked on at this time and will hopefully be up tonight.
UPDATE: The Mahoning Valley fire feed and the YPD feed are up and running. They can be found at the new addresses at the top of this topic.
Yea!! Great job Greg. The feed's working great. Thanks for all you do.
Glad you are able to listen to the feeds again.
I'm still working out some bugs with the new system but so far it is much nicer having two seperate computers running the feeds. One computer runs just the YFD feed and also records all the FD radio traffic which I archive monthly to CD. The second computer runs just the YPD and Mahoning Valley fire feed.
I've attached a couple of pics of my setup in case anyone was interested in seeing what it looked like. The first photo shows the two computers (YFD top, YPD and MVFire bottom) and the BC780XLT running the Mahoning Valley feed. The second photo in the middle shows the two scanners running the YPD and YFD feeds.
Hi Greg,
Are the feeds down? Link isn't connecting.
I can't connect either. I noticed the problem started after a Windows automatic security update on my computer earlier this week.
I don't think it's anything you did joly1584. I've got something messed up somewhere and I can't figure out where exactly the problem lies. I can access all three of my feeds when I am on my home network but I can't access them from an internet connection outside my house. I'm looking at my router settings, my firewall ports and my DNS alias software and so far I'm not sure what is causing the feed access problems. I'll let everyone know when I get it resolved. If anyone IS able to connect to any of the feeds, please post here and let me know. Thanks.
Can someone try these links and post back whether any of them connect or not?
Thanks!

I tried to connect.
On # 1 & 4 I got webpage not found.
On # 2, 3, 5 & 6 I got Internet Explorer cannot display webpage.
I'm using Firefox.
I live in Massachusetts so I guess I'm out of radio range. ::)
No go on all 6.
Tom
Thank you joly1584 and TommyDawg. I'll work on this issue more tomorrow. Thanks for trying out the links. I'm really not sure what the heck is causing people not to be able to connect. I'll keep everyone updated.
I *think* I got it now, can someone try these links again and let me know if you can connect to all or some? Thanks!

None of the six worked for me.
A message state "webpage cannot be found"
tried the first 2........Nothing...... ???
Can someone try this link and see if they can connect?
http://yfd.dnsalias.com/broadwave.m3u?src=1&kbps=48
(sorry copied link wrong, correct link above!)
Greg:
Tried it with no results.
The top link is now opening YFD Live but as there was no activity when I tried I suspect that it was because there was no calls going in or out.
Awesome! That's a start! Now I just need to change some settings on the other computer when I get home tonight and hopefully the YPD and Mahoning Valley Fire feed will be accessible tonight as well!
Thank you for your help Towntalk!
I posted 3 new links on the first post of this topic. All three live feeds should work and be accessible by everyone. Feel free to try them out and post if they work for you.
Thanks for everyone's help and patience.
Yes, yes, yes! They're working! Bravo! Greg saves the day again!
Thanks for all you do, it is really appreciated.
The Mahoning County Fire Feed and the Youngstown Police Feed will be down while I renovate the room that houses the feeds' radios and computers. I hope to have it up as soon as I can find a spot to set things up again. I still have the Youngstown Fire feed up and running though (It is a priority feed for me :) ).
Thanks Greg! And thanks for providing the feed
Okay, I tuned in and heard 3 comments in the last 20 minutes. It's Friday night, shouldn't there be more?
I'll look at the feed Saturday morning and see what's up. I listened for a few minutes and didn't hear any traffic and that's not right.
thank you!
could also need to update links on MV - please let me know if anything has changed in that regard, Greg.
Thanks again for providing this service to our community.
Hi Mary,
I've been listening to it for about 30 minutes now and I'm getting all of the traffic. I'm wondering if last night they were doing some type of event or something and had all non important traffic on Channel 2. I only have channel 1 programmed into the radio. Most of the time channel 2 is used to run vehicle plates and check people for wants and warrents so I have it locked out. I'll listen to it again tonight and see if there is any change.
As far as links go, they should still be the same. I changed the name on the Youngstown/Mahoning Valley Fire Feed but that's about it.
Youngstown Fire - http://yfd.dnsalias.com/broadwave.m3u?src=1&kbps=24
Youngstown Police - http://yfd2.dnsalias.com:81/broadwave.m3u?src=2&kbps=24
Mahoning Valley Emergency Services - http://yfd2.dnsalias.com:81/broadwave.m3u?src=1&kbps=24
Thanks!
Thanks very much for making the feeds available for so many years, Greg.
