Old Furnace Road

The remnants of an old iron producing furnace are next to Pioneer Pavilion which is where Old Furnace Road passes through Mill Creek Park.

Supposedly there was an ax factory in the vicinity of the current Lake Cohasset.

I've been told that there once was a mill of some sort in the Bears Den area where the creek passes under the McCollum Road bridge.

Jay how did Old Furnace Road an area get their name?

How did Ax Factory area come by it's name?

Also how did Bears Den get it's name since there are no bears native to our area?

There are legends surrounding the area around Lanterman's Mill before the mill was built but I could find nothing about the others. Your help would really be welcomed. and I thank you for your help.
