A Possible Reason Why Covid-19 Vaccinations Are Going So Slow In Youngstown

On the TV news this morning

The Mahoning County Health District is asking for licensed volunteers to help administer the Covid-19 vaccine in the weeks ahead.

This just shows that there are not enough employees in place to quickly vaccinate the populations in Youngstown and Mahoning County.

This same reason might apply to other cities, counties, and states.

The City of Youngstown's nursing division has four employees.  Of these, only three are nurses.
If they neglected their other duties, I doubt if the nurses could administer more than 100 vaccines in an hour.
With 60,000 residents in the city, it would take weeks and weeks to give the first shot to every resident.

Doctors' offices and drug stores would probably have similar problems.

Another slow-down
Those receiving the covid-19 shot have to be under observation for a short period of time just incase they have a reaction to the shot.
