Title: Very Late Mail Delivery
Post by: jay on December 07, 2018, 07:43:00 PM
Have you noticed that mail delivery is taking place after dark?  The carrier's clothing has reflective strips which makes them somewhat noticeable in car headlights.  Today my mail was delivered at 5:45 p.m.  The carrier had a LED light strapped to his head so he could read the addresses on his stack of mail.

I think after dark mail delivery is unsafe.  The mail carrier could more easily slip on ice or trip over obstacles in yards.

Can it be that they can't keep regular mail carriers on the route?

That's probably the answer. Whenever I see a different person delivering it seems to come at a different time. This week I didn't get outside early enough to notice a different person but at least two days I got my mail before 9AM instead of somewhere around 5 PM and while that made mine really early I'm sure it put someone else late.

The mailman was still delivering in my area after 6:00 p.m. today.

Today was the first day this week we got any mail and based on the amount I'm pretty sure some of it should have been delivered each of the past three days.
