Title: TrumpCare
Post by: JoyceFarrell on March 21, 2017, 02:49:19 PM
Policy Matters Ohio (http://www.policymattersohio.org/aca-repeal-march17) estimated 700,000 Ohioans would lose coverage under the Republican plan. Gov. John Kasich (R) said on NBC's "Meet The Press" earlier that leaving people uninsured risked "losing the soul of our country." Kasich's administration has estimated that covering those who would lose Medicaid would cost the state $1.5 billion a year.

When you use the force of law to get people to buy a product, many who do not want that product must buy.  How many of those 700,000 actualyl do not want the product but are forced to participate?

And why is health insurance the ONLY WAY to get healthcare in the US?  What other product is only available to purchase by paying a third party some sort of convoluted payment plan?

Health insurance is NOT INSURANCE.  Insurance is a bet placed that you will not need to file a claim.  If all healthcare is paid for by insurance, then it is NOT INSURANCE as there is no bet.  It is simply a third party payment plan for services.

Can't we just buy what we need with our own money and use the power of competition to force prices to drop to levels that we can afford?  You know, like EVERYTHING ELSE we buy?
