We hope the legislation is passed.  This is wonderful news.  We've been waiting 20 years to get better water pressure.

New water tank planned in Boardman
Story by David Skolnick in the Youngstown Vindicator on January 2, 2007.

YOUNGSTOWN — City council will consider legislation todaywed to have the board of control enter into a contract for the engineering of a new 1.5-million-gallon water tank in Boardman.

The tank near Erskine and Afton avenues in Boardman would replace an existing 500,000-gallon tank at that location and a 500,000-gallon tank on Indianola Road on the city's South Side, said John Casciano, the city's water commissioner.

The larger tank would not only store more water, but would provide better pressure to Youngstown Water Department customers on the city's South Side and in Boardman. The city sells water to Boardman customers north of U.S. Route 224, Casciano said.
