You can't hurt BP by boycotting them. If you don't buy today you either bought yesterday, will buy tomorrow or both so it washes out in the end. The other thing is that BP supplies gasoline to pretty much any distrubutor and/or station that will buy it so how do you know where to boycott?

Finally, boycotting a major supplier is more likely to hurt the guy that owns the local station, the small business owner that lives locally and might not survive a boycott of his supplier.

Rick makes excellent points also.

Boycott's of the oil industry have failed and will continue to fail.

Rick Rowlands

No.  Boycotting BP shows absolute gross ignorance of the causes of the Gulf oil spill. Also at this time it is essential to SUPPORT BP, since they are on the hook for the cleanup costs, and if they go belly up the government would have to foot the rest of the bill.

Has anyone chosen to join the BP boycott?
