Wow... I am a member of the local FreeCycle board in my area... down here people ask for stuff like iPods, Flat-panel
televisions and cat litter....guess it's a sign of the economic "times"...

I noticed something on the freecycleyoungstown board.  Several people have recently posted messages requesting food or excess garden vegetables.  Some of these individuals are from the suburbs.
