At the West Side Coalition meeting this evening, a question arose about the legality of setting up a video camera at your home in an attempt to catch (on film) a person or persons committing a crime on your property.  Municipal Court Judge Elizabeth Kobly was in the audience and stated that is was legal to videotape anything that is in view of the public.  This opinion is good news for the West Side Coalition.  The Coalition is considering purchasing video cameras to place in areas where crimes have occurred repeatedly.
