Channel 9 in Washington DC had a report on the Chevrolet VOLT.  Apparently,
the car was on display at a local event that showcases alternative energy
vehicles.

The news report was very encouraging, as it included reactions by some of those
who came to view all of the alternative vehicles.  Several people who appeared on
camera praised the VOLT with such comments as "This is a VERY good looking car!"
and "Too bad it's not on the show room floors RIGHT NOW !"

If GM gets government bailout money, I think it should come with some BIG
strings attached, like: GET THIS CAR TO THE PUBLIC MARKET - A.S.A.P.

The report also showed a cargo truck that is an ALL ELECTRIC vehicle, has a
driving range of 150 MILES without recharging, can haul eight THOUSAND
pounds ,and has a top speed of 50 MPH.  The truck can do all of this with
ZERO EMISSIONS.

C'mon, America - we have some of the best technology on the PLANET.  Let's
get going and get this stuff to market.   Talk about creating jobs?  If the big
three car companies could get these alternative energy vehicles to the market
and make them affordable, the U.S. could REVERSE the trade deficit by
gaining market share in the Global EXPORT business.

People all over the planet who live in countries where Gas and Diesel are very,
very expensive could (and most likely, WOULD) buy cars like the VOLT - made
RIGHT HERE IN USA.
