Unlike today, there was a time when Youngstown produced really great men who rose to high rank by their own hard work.

Gen. Sanderson had an interesting life, and you're right that he was VERY highly
thought of in Youngstown - he was also an attorney and wrote a great book about
the history of Youngstown and Mahoning County, and the movers and shakers of
his time.

He included his own autobiography in this volume.
