Ricky-poo would rather drive in his gas-guzzler out of the valley instead of supporting the valley....

Yep there is the catch.  They are just studying the idea of flying to DC.  When the planes to DC start flying then I'll believe it.   We have relatives in DC and would probably purchase 4 round trips per year if the price was right.  I'm really not all that convinced that we do need an airport here.  Akron/Canton and Pittsburgh airports aren't all that far away.
Once again, they are studying a feasibility study on servicing YNG-Dulles; which is usually one of the last things an airline does prior to announcing service. We may hear something in early January about an announcement, I will keep you posted.

Trust me, this is VERY close to becoming a reality. The service to Chicago on American and Detroit on Delta are not.

Uh huh.  Not buying it yet.  So many times smoke has been blown up our butts.  I'll wait until I see planes in the air.
We are already filling 600-700 seats a week on Allegiant Air to Orlando and Tampa Bay, FL. That number will be around 1,000 in April when Allegiant resumes its seasonal service to Myrtle Beach.

In addition, as the Vindicator noted, the airport should find out the results of a feasibility study from Colgan Air, dba United Express, about starting service in the first quarter of 2011 from YNG to Washington Dulles by Christmas.

This is something the ENTIRE Mahoning Valley must support! We need a regional airport with flights that can take you around the nation and the globe to help our economy.

After a semester at the airport interning, I can assure you the facility is in the right hands with the new director Mr. Dan Dickten. We are close, as the article noted, in acquiring nonstop service to DC!

In the meantime, a non-profit support group has been created with the help of myself. We currently need all the support we can get from the community. Visit us on Facebook here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/YNGAir-Partners/128579103860841, on Twitter here: http://twitter.com/#!/yngairpartners, or by emailing us here: yngairpartners@gmail.com.

Let's truly make this work folks! We can do it!
